Nicole Tharp out of Sawgrass Recreation Park reported falling water levels in the Everglades have resulted in a good number of largemouth bass being caught on live shiners, soft plastics and floating plugs in the east and north canal and over the flats and in the canal on Route 27. During the cold snaps, speckled perch were biting on Alligator Alley on live minnows and jigs.

February 2nd Fishing Report
Finally some beautiful, warm weather!! With temperatures in the 70's this week, the fishing has been consistently good. Clients have been catching trout, redfish and sheepshead on live shrimp and artificial lures. We have been catching the trout and redfish on shallow grassflats, 2-3 ft. of water with artificial Gulp shrimp on a 1/4 oz jighead. The sheepshead and redfish have also been around docks/structure on live shrimp with a split shot weight. Lets hope the nice warm weather continues to cooperate like it has this past week!
