Our trip to the Cow Pattie Pits
A couple of years ago the men's senior class at Lake Shipp Baptist Church decided to take a day to go bank fishing at Tenoroc. We had a great time, caught some fish, met some nice people with the Florida Fish & Game Commission. Now we are again in the planning stage but even though we liked Tenoroc we thought maybe a change of venue would be nice for this group.

Bass fishing has been a little tougher unless you can find some schooling fish. The best bass bite in the Everglades has been at the north end of Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, where a number of big fish have been caught.
Lake Bryant ramp updated, free to use
The only boat ramp open to the public with access to Lake Bryant near Ocklawaha is open again, and now it's free thanks to a deal between a landowner and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Captain Nick Stanczyk from the charter boat BNM out of Bud N Mary s Marina in Islamorada fished Navy pilot John White and his wife Pamela , both from New York, and caught a 28-pound wahoo and more than 15 dolphins before dropping a dolphin belly to the bottom in 1,600 feet of water and then fought and landed a 455-pound swordfish on conventional tackle that took more than five hours to land.
