A plan to protect biologically rich ecosystems along the California coast moved ahead Wednesday, with a state panel advancing proposals to establish a chain of marine protected areas where fishing will be banned or strictly limited.

Bait fish shortage could affect fishing industry (WBBH)
LEE COUNTY : One of Southwest Florida's biggest industries is having trouble finding one of the tiniest of fish. Anglers and tackle shops are having trouble getting pin fish, the best bait for tarpon and cobia. The shortage could cause the local fishing industry to suffer.
