I sure hope this is the last cold snap of the year for us. It was very cool week on the water, but weather reports look great for the coming weeks with plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures, which should really turn on the fishing. Live bait has shown up in the bay and we have been catching snook, redfish and trout on the warm sunny days. On the cooler days, we have been targeting sheepshead, trout, pompano, mackarel and bluefish using live shrimp and artificial lures. I’m really looking forward to the new moon tides next week, combined with warm weather should make for some great action on the water!
